@Christoph:

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to reply to your comments sooner (and I did NOT delete them - they were held in a moderation queue and I hadn't had the time to log into my blog for quite some time, partially because I was extraordinarily busy planning my October 20th wedding, then I was on my honeymoon for weeks, and then I suffered a severe head injury which prevented me from being able to work for quite some time, after which I then was SO behind in my work and emails that I did not get to updating the blog until now.

The listing of nubian.org and explicit.org next to toddler.biz was in fact completely unintentional, and you'll see that I've modified my domain list to remove them completely as it has always been my intention to list my adult domains in a separate place from my mainstream ones so as not to offend anyone.

I am glad that my blog on How to Blog has helped you in the past. Again, I am sorry that I was not able to approve your comments or update my blog until now. It does sadden me that you would automatically jump to the conclusion that I had deleted your comment and that I now 'disgust you'. I don't think that's called for, but you are entitled to your feelings. Personally, I find it offensive that you've declared anyone who would buy an adult name must be a sicko; while that may be true in some cases, the majority of us simply have made wise financial decisions and investments. Just having those names parked brings in many thousands of dollars per month without me having to do a thing to promote or develop the sites (not that there's anything wrong with those who do develop their sites -- there's far more money to be made there than in parking).

@To everyone else who has commented:

Thank you for your support! I apologize for not having updated my blogs in quite some time. I do hope to be able to have enough free time in (hopefully) the nearby future to be able to get back to blogging. I am very much looking forward to getting back in the blogging saddle again and reconnecting with the community!!

Well, Emily, you don't have time to update your blog, but you DO have time to delete the very respectful comment I recently made about your juxtaposition of for sale adult-orientated domain names like "nubian.org", "explicit.org" in a list immediately with child-orientated domain names like TODDLER.BIZ".

And this from someone who spoke calmly with respect and came to thank you for an article you'd written before. And did so. But you had time to delete that comment.

So now I'll say you disgust me. When that clearly weird juxtaposition is pointed out to you, you can't spend a couple minutes putting them in a separate list, you must censor my comment. Why, that saved a minute. Way to go.

Or do you think the sickos that are in the adult porn business might just be more motivated to make a buying decision when their minds pick up on that juxtaposition?

Emily, I've appreciated your blog in the past and you're the one who convinced me to get my own domain name about a year and a half ago. Now I have a personal AND a business website, both going concerns, can do valid XHTML, CSS, etc., and I was a newbie before. Thanks for convincing me to do that.

Also, I don't know what personal or financial change is stopping you from posting, but I wish you well.

I checked out your domain name portfolio and saw something that jarred and irked me, completely unintentional on your part, and I was wondering if you did nothing else, will you spend the two minutes it takes to change this?

You sell adult domains and have the following four names as first on your list:

nubian.org
ABSURDNESS.COM
explicit.org
TODDLER.BIZ

I'm sorry, but "nubian.org" and explicit.org followed by TODDLER.BIZ is a bit distasteful. Will you at least rearrange the list and not mix children's domain names with adult?

Surely they could be separated?

Kind regards,

Christoph

Hi Emily,

Are you going to continue updating your blog? It's got some really good internet marketing related info and would be a pity if you didn't.

Just a couple of quick notes:

Your spot here says it's moved to a 404 site - no such place - http://blogging.typepad.com/how_to_blog/2004/08/ping_services_t.html

Google's blogger does an automatic update to weblogs.com if you've got it turned on. That should avoid the need for many pings when you publish. It's under Settings:Pubishing.

Hi Emily,

I saw a reference from your site on the internet and it caught my attention. I like the way you setup a portal for people to make purchases to support your work. I also truly LOVE your work. I hope to see much more in the near future!

Hello Emily. I happend upon your site a few months ago and now am back again. I am looking to host my own blog and would like to create my own template. I will most definitely be looking at your blogs for answers as to how to do so.

I am also a student as a hospitality and tourism marketing major. One of my projects is to research a return on investment for a local hotel using online booking. I noticed that you run an online booking system and was wondering if you would be willing to give me some info for the project. Thank you.

Dear Emily,

According to Google Analytics, 4% of visitors to my site come from your site.

That's very nice, but I can't for the life of me work out how. Any ideas?

My site is http://www.sns.ias.edu/~jns/wp/

Best,

James
